John's right hand passed through the crystal grasping the hilt of his sword.  Sparks flew as the crystal crumbled and exploded away.  The room went black for several seconds as the sounds of rushing wind filled the room.  Pages fluttered and books fell.  After it all stopped Jon had gone to his knees.  But he had the sword.  "Are you ok John."  Claire asked knowing full well how badly that must have hurt.  "Claire I remember the promise I made you." Her glee could be felt as she glomped him from behind "good to have you back my love."  "Ours is a love not bound by time."  John had regained some of his former self.  "I also remember building this place.  But it is all a blurred jumbled mess.  Claire what happens if we fail to activate it?"  "John you and your brother made this place to only activate when 72 soul fragments are gathered and placed on the graves lining the path to the house.  This place works by usurping deaths power.  We both have already pissed him off so in order to not make him any madder you decided to make it an all or nothing gamble.  You have one lifetime to gather all of them and if you fail, you start over in your next incarnation."  "Have we ever gotten close?"  "The closest we have gotten was ten lifetimes ago but even saying that we only had half of the fragments."

"Finding the good fragments is easy.  The evil ones are more difficult to get.  To collect a good one we can just ask and they offer up a piece of their soul or we can just take a relic belonging to them to serve in its place.  The evil fragments usually must be fought for."  As John sat taking it all in the scope of his task slowly over took him.  There was no big hurry to finish the task but it finally hit him.  Claire must have suffered so greatly. Her pain to have watched him die and come back just to de again must be...  His mind could not even come up with a comparable pain.  The worst things that had happened to him to date was the murder of his twin sister and the Kidney stone shower he had suffered two years earlier.  Those were not even on the same level as what Claire had gone through or was still suffering through.  One thing was clear to him somehow this go round he must succeed for both of their sakes.  He felt good, he could do this.  John had no idea where this surge of confidence came from but he knew this time we have to win!

"Sounds like fun so how do we start my love?"  Claire hugged him tightly "I am so glad you are back."

As John took in the scene he noticed the library was in shambles.  All of his hard work had been for nothing.  But not quite nothing he had regained part of his memory and his sword.  But deep down he knew the sword would be useless in this modern age.  So the real question was how could he use it?  "Well Claire I suppose my first move is to clean up this mess."  Claire just stood smiling "John, just tell the library to return to normal."  John stared blankly there was no way it was that easy.  However after grabbing this sword that now sat in front of him.  He decided to try it "library I john Ravenwood command you to return to normal!"  In seconds events began unfolding in reverse.  Pages fluttered as books lifted off the ground flying in circles.  One by one the books stacked on the shelf.  The books were even going back better organized all but one.  It lay open on the table.  Before now it had been just a blank old book.    Claire recognized it immediately Merlin had left it in her care more than a millennium ago.  As she thought about it she remembered wondering why he had left a blank book.  But as she approached it she noticed it was no longer blank.  The first line read Hello John I don't know how many lives you have led before now but these pages revealing their secrets means I am no longer alive and the time for my prophecy is upon you.  You must travel to my resting place to obtain my fragment which will change the device we built more on that later good luck my brother.  "That Merlin really was such a good little brother."   John quickly crossed the room and saw the text.  "His resting place how ... How do we find or get to something like that?"

Before Claire could answer more text appeared.  So sorry my brother I suppose that was a bit too vague.  You will need this book and the sword.  The dimensional gateway does not have enough power to open and with me no longer there the path to my world is closing quickly.  Claire will know the place I speak of.  There is a place in the necropolis where a stone has a slot in it as if it were missing something.  No doubt you have heard of the sword in the stone.  Place your sword in that slot and it will power the device for now.  The book will serve as your passport of sorts.  Once there look for Raven she will have my Crystal ball and you might also talk with Jack Rhodes.  "Come on John we have to go, I told you time is relative so..."  John finished her thought "so we have no way of knowing how long the worlds will remain connected."  They both ran out of the room and Claire opened the door to a room that would chill normal people to the bone.  It was an indoor graveyard complete with a piano lit by a single chandelier.  John did not have time to wonder about this place.  His goal was clear save Claire live happily ever after or some crap like that!

"John the stone is on the other side of the piano!"   He rounded the piano and there it was.  The very stone spoken of in the Arthur legends sat right there.  Merlin had wired it into the main power source of the necropolis.  John stood before the stone lifting Dark Thunder just above it in one stroke he plunged the sword deep into the stone.  The energy surged through the entire place.  The stone of kings began to glow as the whole house shook.  As a melancholy tune echoed from the piano the gateway opened above one of the graves.  Claire   grabbed his hand "Hurry John!"  In a flash and clap of thunder they were gone.  An instant they stood in a courtyard full of roses and Forget Me Nots.  Three very angry people had them trapped in a triangle.  One was a man who seemed to stare at things the same way a cat would.  One was a young woman with short dark hair and Blue-Green eyes.  The other was a man with a very sinister stern look on his face.  "Claire I think we are in trouble?!"
