The Monument
The Monument
Over the vaulted hills past the dreaded cemetery it lay. A rotting corpse of a forgotten time. Many stones had fallen over but still it stood. Tall as a mountain, dark as a tomb. This place was a monument to foolishness. To think it had once represented all that was good in the world. All that lies forgotten now in a kingdom of dirt. Lost now and consumed by time. Just down the path it sits decaying, waiting to impart its knowledge to any who dare visit it. Too the brave and curious it beacons To all else a broken castle filling our dreams with dread. As this once great place just wastes away forgotten by all but still against the ages it stands a lifeless inanimate hulk. One day it will be gone and nothing not even ashes will remain.
